📌
Your first Spanish nouns — with gender — Every noun has gender: la mesa (f), la silla (f), el gato (m), la puerta (f), el cielo (m), la cama (f), el hermano (m), la cuchara (f), el coche (m), la calle (f). Learn each noun with its article — that's the gender label.
🔧
Forming plurals — Add -s after a vowel: mesa → mesas, silla → sillas, coche → coches. Some nouns change to show natural gender: el gato (male cat) → la gata (female cat). Articles also pluralise: el → los, la → las. The article always tells you the gender.
💬
Putting it together right awayLa puerta está abierta (The door is open). El gato está en la cama (The cat is on the bed). Mi hermano maneja el coche (My brother drives the car). La cuchara está en la mesa (The spoon is on the table). Pair these nouns with estar, ser, tener, and ir.
