Numbers 1–100 — key patterns — Learn these blocks: 1–15 are unique words. 16–19 merge as one word: dieciséis, diecisiete, dieciocho, diecinueve. 20–29 also merge: veintiuno, veintidós… From 30 onwards: treinta y uno, cuarenta y dos — always with y (and).

Uno and agreementUno becomes un before a masculine noun (un libro) and una before feminine (una mesa). In compound numbers: veintiún libros, veintiuna mesas. Cien (100 exactly) vs. ciento + number for anything above: ciento uno, ciento cincuenta.

Numbers in daily life¿Cuánto cuesta? (How much does it cost?). Son veinte euros (It's twenty euros). Vivo en el piso quinto (I live on the fifth floor — ordinal). Tengo treinta y dos años (I'm 32 years old). El vuelo sale a las dieciséis horas (The flight leaves at 16:00).
