Ver — present tense conjugationveo, ves, ve, vemos, veis, ven. Only the yo form is irregular (veo, not vo); all other forms follow the regular -er pattern. The yo form veo is one of the "extended yo" forms like creo (from creer) — the addition of -e- prevents a vowel clash.

Ver vs mirar — passive vs active seeingVer = to see (passive/involuntary perception): ¿Ves ese edificio? (Can you see that building?). Mirar = to look at (active/intentional): Mira la pizarra (Look at the board). Ver also means to watch (ver la tele) and to visit informally (A ver si te veo pronto).
💡
A ver — a very common expressionA ver (let's see / let me check) is one of the most common fillers in spoken Spanish: A ver, ¿qué tienes aquí? It expresses curiosity, hesitation, or "let me look". Don't confuse it with haber. Also common: ya veremos (we'll see), vamos a ver (let's see).
