📚 Quick grammar review
📌
Absolute superlative: -ísimo — Adding -ísimo/a/os/as to an adjective (drop the final vowel first) creates an absolute superlative meaning "extremely" or "very very": fácil → facilísimo, rico → riquísimo, largo → larguísimo, bueno → buenísimo. The form agrees in gender and number with the noun: una película buenísima.
🔧
Spelling changes with -ísimo — To preserve the original sound, some consonants change before -ísimo: -co → qu: rico → riquísimo, poco → poquísimo; -go → gu: largo → larguísimo, amargo → amarguísimo; -z → c: feliz → felicísimo. These are the same spelling rules as before -e in other contexts.
💡
-ísimo vs muy — register difference — -ísimo is more emphatic and is common in both formal writing and expressive speech. Muy is neutral. Some adjectives prefer -ísimo in certain fixed phrases: tardísimo (very very late), muchísimo (very much — from mucho), facilísimo. Using both: Es muy bueno vs ¡Es buenísimo! — the second is warmer and more emphatic.
