Saber vs. conocer — both mean 'to know'Saber = to know a fact or how to do something: Sé nadar (I know how to swim), ¿Sabes la respuesta?. Conocer = to know/be acquainted with a person or place: Conozco Madrid (I know Madrid). Manejar is the standard term in Latin America; Spain uses conducir. Volar → vuelo (stem-changing).

Everyday verb usage¿Sabes leer en español? (Can you read in Spanish?). Corremos en el parque los domingos (We run in the park on Sundays). Hay que limpiar la cocina (We need to clean the kitchen). Llora mucho cuando ve películas tristes (She cries a lot when she watches sad films). El avión vuela a las diez (The plane flies at ten).
