📌
Mixed vocabulary — body, place and study — la boca (mouth), la nariz (nose), el agua (water — see below!), la pluma (pen/feather), el ruido (noise), el banco (bank or bench), el edificio (building), el río (river), el/la estudiante, la escuela (school).
🔧
The agua trick — feminine with el — agua is feminine but takes el in the singular to avoid the awkward la agua sound clash: el agua fría — notice fría stays feminine. In the plural: las aguas. The same rule applies to any feminine noun starting with a stressed a-: el aula (classroom), el águila (eagle).
💬
Scene-setting sentences — El estudiante hace mucho ruido en la escuela (The student makes a lot of noise at school). Hay un banco junto al río (There's a bench by the river).
