📚 Quick grammar review
📌
The six indirect object pronounsMe (to me), te (to you), le (to him/her/it/you formal), nos (to us), os (to you all), les (to them/you all). Unlike DOPs, the 3rd-person forms le/les have no gender — the same pronoun is used for masculine and feminine.
🔧
IOPs with gustar-type verbs — Verbs like gustar, encantar, molestar, interesar, doler use IOPs to mark who is affected: Me gusta el café. Te duelen los pies. Le interesa la política. The IOP is the experiencer, not the grammatical subject — the subject is the thing that pleases/hurts/interests.
💡
Redundant IOPs are common and natural — Spanish often uses both the IOP and the full indirect object noun phrase together: Le doy el libro a Juan. This "redundancy" is not wrong — it's normal and very common, especially when the noun follows the verb. The IOP is often obligatory even when the noun is stated.
