📌
Three positions: before verb, after verb, or floating — Object pronouns go before a conjugated verb: Lo veo. Me llama. They can attach to an infinitive or gerund: Quiero verlo / Estoy viéndolo. Or float before the auxiliary: Lo quiero ver / Lo estoy viendo. With infinitives/gerunds both positions are equally correct.
🔧
Affirmative commands: always attached — In affirmative imperatives, the pronoun must attach to the end of the verb — there is no option to place it before: Dámelo. Cuéntamelo. Siéntate. An accent is usually required to keep the original stress: count back — if the verb would be stressed on the third syllable or earlier from the end, add the accent.
💡
Negative commands: always before — In negative commands, pronouns must come before the verb — never attached: No me lo digas. No te preocupes. No lo hagas. The rule is absolute. This position-reversal between affirmative and negative commands is one of the most testable points in Spanish grammar.
