Key distinctionsEl fregadero is the kitchen sink; el lavabo is the bathroom basin. La alacena is a built-in kitchen cupboard (often high up); el cajón is any drawer. Los azulejos (tiles) are always plural — you'd rarely talk about just one tile. La maceta brings the garden inside — essential in Mediterranean homes.
