Practise Spanish color vocabulary. Each question shows a color — write the correct Spanish word. Remember colors agree with nouns! Beginner level.

Spanish colours and agreementrojo/a (red), azul (blue — invariable), verde (green — invariable), amarillo/a (yellow), negro/a (black), blanco/a (white), gris (grey — invariable), naranja (orange — invariable), morado/a (purple), marrón (brown — invariable). Invariable colours don't change for gender or number.

Agreement rules for colours — Colours ending in -o change: un coche rojo / una casa roja / coches rojos / casas rojas. Invariable colours stay the same: una camisa azul / unos zapatos azul. In the plural, invariable colours may add -es: azules, verdes. Naranja and marrón are an exception and stay the same even in plural: coches naranja.

Colours in everyday use¿De qué color es? (What colour is it?). La casa de mis sueños es blanca (My dream house is white). Llevo una camiseta verde (I'm wearing a green T-shirt). El semáforo está en rojo (The traffic light is red). Me encanta el azul marino (I love navy blue — compound colour names stay invariable).
