Future vs ir a + infinitive — Both express the future but with slightly different nuances. Ir a + infinitive is used for near-future plans and intentions: Voy a estudiar esta noche. The future tense is used for more distant future events, formal contexts, or promises: Llegaré mañana a las diez. In practice they overlap considerably.

Future with time expressions — The future tense naturally pairs with: mañana, la semana que viene, el próximo mes/año, dentro de + time, pronto, algún día, cuando + subjunctive. Cuando llegues, te llamaré (When you arrive, I'll call you). Note: after cuando for future events, use the subjunctive in the dependent clause.
💡
Probability in the future: saber and poder — The future of saber and poder are especially common for expressing possibility: ¿Podrás venir? (Will you be able to come?) and No sabrán la respuesta (They probably won't know the answer — epistemic). These verbs' irregular future stems (podr-, sabr-) need to be automatic.
