📌
Ustedes commands — plural of usted — The ustedes command is formed by adding -n to the usted command: hable → hablen, coma → coman, viva → vivan. In most of Latin America this is the only plural command (there is no vosotros), so these forms get a lot of use in everyday speech.
🔧
Stem-changing and irregular verbs — Irregularities in the usted command carry through to ustedes: tenga → tengan, ponga → pongan, venga → vengan, diga → digan, vaya → vayan. All six irregular subjunctive verbs (dar, ser, estar, ir, saber, haber) are also irregular in ustedes commands.
💡
Pronoun attachment with ustedes commands — Affirmative ustedes commands follow the same pronoun attachment rules as other commands: pronouns attach to the end. An accent is usually needed: Diganmelo, Háganlo, Siéntense. In negative commands, pronouns precede the verb: No me llamen, no lo hagan.
