📌
Character and personality — educado (polite), tacaño (stingy), inteligente (intelligent), vivo (quick-witted — not just 'alive'!). Both inteligente and excelente are invariable by gender: un hombre inteligente / una mujer inteligente.
🔧
Ser vs. estar — a classic test — Es aburrido (He's boring, as a trait) vs. Está aburrido (He's bored right now) — the same adjective, two very different meanings. Similarly: Es listo (He's clever) vs. Está listo (He's ready). Context and verb choice decide everything.
💬
Natural usage — Llegó temprano (He arrived early — used adverbially). ¡Es excelente!. ¡Qué tacaño eres! (You're so stingy!). Es una persona muy educada (She's very polite). Parece aburrido pero en realidad es muy divertido (He seems boring but is actually a lot of fun).
