📚 Quick grammar review
📌
Ver in the preterite — vi, viste, vio, vimos, visteis, vieron. The preterite of ver is irregular — it uses the -er/-ir preterite endings but without the accent marks on vi and vio (monosyllables don't take accent marks in Spanish). Compare: comí, comió (with accent) vs vi, vio (no accent).
🔧
Vi — using it naturally — Vi is used for completed past acts of seeing, watching, or meeting: Vi la película anoche. Vi a María en el mercado. Viste lo que hizo? It can also mean "I saw" in the sense of understanding or realising: Vi que era imposible (I saw/realised that it was impossible).
💡
Verse — reflexive form for mutual seeing — Verse (to see each other / to be seen) is the reflexive: Nos vemos el viernes (See you Friday — we'll see each other). Se ve que está cansado (You can tell he's tired — it can be seen). In the preterite: Nos vimos ayer (We saw each other yesterday).
