📌
Wild and aquatic animals — el lobo (wolf), el conejo (rabbit), la oveja (sheep), la serpiente (snake), el tiburón (shark), el pato (duck). These range from farmyard to ocean to forest. El lobo appears in many Spanish expressions and fairy tales — very culturally embedded.
🔧
Animal sounds in Spanish — Animals make different sounds in Spanish: el perro hace guau, el gato hace miau, la oveja hace beee, el pato hace cuac. These onomatopoeic words vary by language and are fun to learn. La serpiente silba (the snake hisses); el lobo aúlla (the wolf howls) — irregular verbs worth knowing.
💬
Animal expressions in everyday Spanish — ¡Eres un conejo! (You're so fast! — affectionate). Tener mariposas en el estómago (To have butterflies in your stomach). El tiburón es el rey del mar (The shark is king of the sea). Las ovejas siguen al líder (The sheep follow the leader — also used figuratively). Animals enrich idiomatic Spanish enormously.
