Adverbs of manner answer ¿Cómo? — Manner adverbs describe how an action is performed. The most common are formed with -mente: hablar lentamente, trabajar cuidadosamente, responder amablemente. They normally follow the verb but can be fronted for emphasis: Cuidadosamente, leyó el contrato.

Common irregular manner adverbs — Several high-frequency manner adverbs don't use -mente: bien (well), mal (badly), despacio (slowly), deprisa (quickly), así (like this/in this way), a propósito (on purpose). These are all invariable.

Con + noun as an alternative — A prepositional phrase with con often replaces a manner adverb and sounds more natural in speech: con cuidado (carefully), con dificultad (with difficulty), con entusiasmo (enthusiastically). Both options are correct — choose whichever flows better in the sentence.
